Donation towards the making of Streetscape Pictures
The Arkona Lions gave a donation to help out with the making of streetscape pictures. The 3 pictured below are ones that are hanging on the side wall on the Arkona Lions Museum And Information Centre , they have been taken down until the Museum opens up again next year . But if you are out driving around come out to Arkona there are several streetscape pictures hanging all around Arkona , they are all pictures of Arkona's past

Hydro Electric Dam Remnants in the Ausable River Built in 1907 buy Rock Glen Hydro Company. Supplied power to Arkona and area Shut off every night at 11pm In 1932 with the formation of ONT Hydro – they bought the dam and it ceased operating. After WWII

In 1870 Mr. Mitchell built the Grist mill and you can still see the foundation today. Grist Mill = grinding wheat into flour. It was 3 floors. Large wheel driven by water to fuel machinery to grind grain on top floor.
