The last 3 boulders are so large and heavy Bill McKenzie of Arkona was asked if he could move them into place using his backhoe and expertise .The one Boulder in the picture was so huge it didn't fit into the bucket of the backhoe and it had to be strapped onto it
This boulder was just hanging on ,and it was placed along with 2 more into the Rock Garden with no problems at all
With all the boulders placed into the Rock Garden this is how beautiful it looks
There is one spot left open for a large trilobite burrow rock that will eventually be found and placed into the Rock Garden ,and on a few of the boulders that do not have very many fossils on them, there will be fossils from the area glued onto them ,and a few brass plates with information will be fastened onto a few boulders . Also all the boulders will be power sprayed to have them clean enough for the fossils to show up even more .The Arkona Lions wish to Thank everyone involved in the making of the Rock Garden . The community and visitors coming to the park will enjoy seeing and learning about the incredible fossils from the Arkona area
